National Rural Development Council
Based in Washington DC, the National Rural Development Council (NRDC) brings together representatives of over 40 federal agencies and national organizations to provide a uniquely rural perspective to federal policy and program development. Its role is to serve as a much needed conduit of information on the implications and impacts of federal decision-making in rural communities across America.
At monthly meetings, NRDC members present new program ideas, grant opportunities, or requests for input to ongoing federal agency efforts. At these meetings, NRDC members discuss their experiences working with the SRDCs, highlight significant issues facing rural America, and set tasks for appropriate action.
