Bridge to the Policy Consultation

Purpose

The 2004 NRDP Policy Consultation established critical, broad topic areas on which partners would focus. For the 2005 Consultation to be highly effective, state participants need time to fully analyze programs and policies, build off of past consultations, and prepare recommendations for Federal agencies. The “Bridge to 2005 Policy Consultation” continued work begun at the 2004 Consultation and provided a focus for the 2005 Consultation. The first formal session of the Consultation was held at the NRDP Annual Conference in Oklahoma City August 30-September 2, 2004.

Design

Federal partners presented the major programs/policies selected for analysis. Conference participants then divided into teams to develop work plans for addressing each program/policy (assignments, timelines, leadership, etc.). Work plans will be implemented during a 7-month period, with results presented at the 2005 Consultation.
