Cooperative Programs

Other    small business owners may find it beneficial to form a cooperative for one or more reasons such as shared marketing, supply purchases, or research and development.

The cooperative programs helps rural residents form new cooperative businesses and improve the operations of existing cooperatives. To accomplish this, cooperative programs provides technical assistance,  conducts cooperative-related research, and produces information products to promote public understanding of cooperatives.  They provide a wide range of assistance for people interested in forming cooperatives.  This help can range from an initial feasibility study to the creation and implementation of a business plan.

Cooperative programs are delivered through the  USDA Rural Development State Office.  For more information about the programs visit   USDA Cooperative Programs and Value-Added Producer Grant
