
Community Facilities Direct Loan (CF Direct)
Purpose: What is the Program's Goal?
USDA Rural Development makes loans to develop essential community facilities.
Eligible Applicants: Who can apply?
Non-profits, Tribes, and public bodies (e.g., cities or counties).
Eligible Areas:
Unincorporated rural areas, cities, and towns with populations less than 20,000.
Authorized Purposes: What can funds be used for?
The loans can be used for real estate and equipment.
Types of projects include clinics, shelters, public buildings, day care centers, fire stations,
and fire trucks.
Typical Amount of Assistance:
$50,000 - $1,000,000
Rates & Terms (rates subject to change):
3 tier structure; 40 years maximum (rates are subject to change quarterly).
Key to Success:
The loan must be fully secured by a lien on the property financed or by a pledge of user revenues.
