
Community Facilities Grant (CF Grant)
Purpose: What is the Program's Goal?
USDA Rural Development makes grants to help communities, that cannot qualify for a CF loan, pay for the cost of developing essential community facilities.
Eligible Applicants: Who can apply?
Non-profits, Tribes, and public bodies (e.g., cities or counties).
Eligible Areas:
Unincorporated rural areas, cities, and towns with populations of 20,000 or
less.
Authorized Purposes: What can funds be used for?
The grants can be used for real estate and equipment.
Types of projects include clinics, shelters, public buildings, day care centers, fire stations,
and fire trucks.
Typical Amount of Assistance:
$10,000-$25,000.
Key to Success:
May pay for 15-75% of the project cost depending on the community's population and median household
income (MHI).
