Water and Waste Disposal Water and Waste Disposal (WWD) Loans and Grants -- For development of water and waste disposal (including solid waste disposal and storm drainage) systems in rural areas and towns with populations of 10,000 or less. The funds are available to public entities such as municipalities, counties, special purpose or general improvement districts, Tribes, and corporations not operated for profit. USDA Rural Development also guarantees Water and Waste Disposal loans made by banks and other eligible lenders.
Water, Sewer, and Solid Waste Disposal Management Grants -- Provided to address safe drinking water needs of low-income communities. The ratio of grant and loan in each project is dependent on community income, utility rates, and other factors. Grants may not exceed 75% of eligible project costs. USDA Rural Development works with programs administered by the State of Nevada to create affordable financing packages.
Rural Water and Wastewater Circuit Rider Technical Assistance --Provides technical assistance for the operation of rural water and wastewater systems. Through contracting with the Nevada Rural Water Association, USDA Rural Development has assisted rural systems with day-to-day operational, financial, and management problems. The assistance may be requested by officials of rural water and wastewater systems.
Technical Assistance and Training Grants -- USDA Rural Development provides technical assistance and training on a wide range of issues relating to the delivery of water and waste disposal services available through its own staff and through a contract with the Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC).
