Water
and Waste Disposal Loans and Grants (WWD)
Long term loans of up to 40 years and interest rates based on community
income levels are available. Grants are available to assist the most
needy communities to reduce the user rates and charges to the level of
similar systems. This program is directed toward rural areas and
communities with a population of up to 10,000 people. Eligible applicants
include broadly based nonprofit corporations and public bodies, such as
municipalities, counties, townships, special purpose districts and authorities.
Applicants must be unable to finance proposed projects from their own resources
or through commercial credit. Loans and grants are available for
community water systems, sanitary sewage systems, solid waste disposal
systems and storm wastewater disposal systems.
