Guaranteed Rural Housing Loans                                                                                                                         
Guaranteed Single Family Housing Loans are originated by approved mortgage lenders to assist qualified moderate income households in
eligible rural areas.  The loan provides up to 100% financing for households that are within the household income limit for the area.  The Guarantee eliminates the need for a down payment and private mortgage insurance.  Customers receive 30-year loans with fixed interest rates.  Contact a local lender, or one of our Rural Development Area Offices for names of approved lenders in your area.
 

Direct Rural Housing Loans                                                                                                                                            
The Section  502 Direct program provides loans in rural areas for low and very low income households to purchase or repair their existing home.  Applicants may obtain 100% financing to purchase an existing dwelling, purchase a site and have a dwelling constructed, or newly constructed homes.  Household income must be within the household income limit for the area and home purchase can not exceed the loan limit for the area.  The homes must be owner occupied and payments are based on household income.  Contact the

Self Help Housing Loans                                                                                                                                                
The Self-Help Housing loans assists groups of eight to twelve low and very-low income families work together to build homes new homes under the supervision of a construction supervisor.  The groups perform at least 65 percent of the construction work.  These groups share the common goal of home ownership and commit themselves to share in the work that will make that goal a reality.  Contact the

Home Improvement and Repair Loans and Grants
These loans and grants enable very low-income rural homeowners to remove health and safety hazards from their homes, to improve or modernize them and to make them accessible for people with disabilities. Grants are available for homeowners age 62 and older who cannot afford to repay a loan at a 1% interest rate.
