Rural Business Enterprise Grant:

Outline of Need:
Tapetes De Lana Culinary Arts Center
Mora, New Mexico

How Rural Development Helped:
The funds in the amount of $47,118 will assist in the completion of the construction of a certified community kitchen and equipment purchase for the kitchen in Mora, New Mexico. EZ/EC funding was used in La Jicarita EC designated area. Mora County is also a persistent poverty county.

The Results:
As a result of this action, 10 jobs will be created.



Rural Business Opportunity Grant

Outline of Need:
Tapetes De Lana is in the process of constructing a fiber spinning facility in Mora County, New Mexico.

How Rural Development Helped:
The RBOG funds in the amount of $79,060 will be used for the purpose of providing technical assistance and training from the producers who will provide fiber to the mill to the mill workers who will process the raw material to the weavers that will add value to the raw product and finally to marketing of the completed woven product.

The Results:
As a result of this project, 15 jobs will be created.
