Value-Added Producer Grant
Application Requirements
Goals of the Project

Applicants for the VAPG program must include a clear statement of the ultimate Goals of the Project. There must be an explanation of how a market will be expanded and the degree to which incremental revenue will accrue to the benefit of the Agricultural Producer(s).

Recommendations for developing the Goals of the Project:

  • You MUST explain how your project will result in an expansion of a market. The expansion can be obtained either through an increase in the number of customers for a product or through in increase in the number of units sold of a product. Even if you are applying for a planning grant, you must still estimate how you think continuing with the project will result in a market expansion.

  • You MUST explain the degree to which incremental revenue will accrue to the producers involved in the project. In other words, how much additional money will the producers make because they are selling the value-added product rather than just selling the raw commodity? Even if you applying for a planning grant, you must still estimate this revenue.
