Summary
Madison County Champion Community
This is been a most eventful and productive year for Madison County. We have been a participant in the Florida Association of Counties Rural Development Pilot Project, in which we received technical assistance in the areas of Economic and Tourist Development. We held an Economic Development Summit to identify and prioritize our community goals and our Board of County selected a model for an economic development organization. Upon selection of such model, the existing Madison County Development Council was designated to serve as that organization and the BOCC funded the organization in the amount of $60,000. In addition, the Board has hired an Economic Development Director, who will work directly for the MCDC.
