Fayette Enterprise Community
The Fayette Enterprise Community (FEC) is made up of six census tracts throughout Fayette County, Pennsylvania, totaling 84.37 square miles. The FEC also includes three developable sites totaling 1,499.34 acres. Currently, the FEC Strategic Plan includes 98 benchmarks totaling more than $170 million dollars. To date $72,891,963 has been received and $107,556,305 has been requested from various federal, state, local and private sources for benchmark activities. This year the FEC received $249,450 to fund various projects throughout the FEC. The FEC received 35 applications for funds totaling over $750,000. The Board reviewed and approved a total of 19 projects totaling $249,450. The FEC Board also approved three new benchmarks for the Fayette Enterprise Community Benchmark System.
The new Benchmarks are as follows:
1. Establish a Community Art Center in the Fayette Enterprise Community and support the efforts of Art in the City.
2. Maintain a viable Brownsville General Hospital in the FEC.
3. Revitalization of Main Street of the downtowns in the FEC.
Each
of the benchmarks falls into one of the seven categories that make up the FEC
Strategic Plan. Those categories are: Agriculture, Community Development,
Economic Development, Education, Housing, Social Conditions, and Transportation.
