Four Corners Enterprise Community

Successes So Far include:
- February 3rd -- The Four Corners Enterprise Community Task Force met in Window Rock, Arizona-Headquarters of the Navajo Nation.
- The Moenkopi Village was a recipient of an USDA Rural Business Enterprise Grant to help establish a water and wastewater system for a motel and restaurant project in the Moenkopi Community.
- The Seba Dalkia School applied for the U.S. Department of Commerce Telecommunications and Information Infrastructure Assistance Program (TIIAP) to provide satellite technology to benefit EC residents and provide increased capacity in the area of communications and information sharing.
- Social Service Block Grant funds for more than $160,000 were approved for the Nogales Housing Authority to manage a project that will include workforce development, promotion of a cultural folkloric dance group and public housing grassroots organization (Grupo de Inquililnos en Accion) and a community policing program in the EC.
- The University of Arizona's College of Medicine received a $121,175 grant that will provide telemedicine services to the Hopi Reservation. Through the telemedicine grant, the Hopi Health Center will be linked to the University of Arizona College of Medicine. The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) grant will provide a higher level of patient care in an ambulatory care setting, remove current barriers to specialized medicine imposed by physical barriers and improve the quality of life by providing both the health-care establishment and residents access to preventative care.
