The Empowerment Alliance of SW Florida (EASF) Community Development Corporation Board of Directors has also developed an outcome based management tool that is used to prioritize and budget for programs and activities of the organization. The Board worked diligently this year with the assistance of the Community Foundation of Collier County and the staff of the EASF to develop outcomes for our programs and the tools to measure if we are in fact achieving the desired outcomes or if changes or deletions were needed to the programs. The CDC Board of Directors applied to the Community Foundation of Collier County for a Planning and Evaluation Grant for our Summer Employment Program. Through this process we learned to evaluate all our programs based on the outcomes we are trying to achieve and how to measure if we are moving in the right direction. This has been helpful in making decisions on which areas should be pursued and which should be discontinued. It is also an invaluable tool for informing potential funders about the effectiveness of our programs.
