The Desert Alliance for Community Empowerment (DACE) continued its focus on accomplishing the implementation and development of projects included in the strategic plan.
The following are highlights for this past year:
- DACE was successful in securing another of the CA States largest Rural Business Enterprise Grants (RBEG) in the amount of $440,000 for the predevelopment of DACE’s economic development and self sufficiency projects.
- RANCHO Housing expanded its Housing Repair Program to fully serve the Cities of Coachella and Palm.
- Desert to mitigate health and safety issues.
- RANCHO Housing Alliance, Inc. development of the Rancho de la Fe subdivision continues with an additional 60 families settled into their homes.
- The Poder Popular program continues as a holistic outreach effort to be implemented by Eastern Coachella Valley Social Change Health Committee.
- RANCHO continues to expand its homebuyer education and financial packaging program that has placed over 200 families in affordable homes.

- The College of the Desert partnered with DACE to hold forums to get community feedback on programming and facilities for its new campus in our Mecca Sub-zone which will greatly increase communities educational and economic development opportunities.
- Initiated and secured funding for the San Cristobal Housing complex, which includes a 198 bed migrant farm worker housing facility, a 56 space mobile home park and migrant farm worker comfort station.
- The first phase of the Mesa Verde Community Park was completed with the installation of the park, equipment, parking lot and landscaping.
