2008 Annual Report Executive Summary

CONAC REAP Zone

Our main objective remains to assist businesses with expansion, retention and start-up ambitions. To this end, twenty-three projects were brought before the CONAC Board for endorsement and/or funding.

It was time to review and revise the policy manual, after completing a strategic planning process last year. With funds being limited and in some cases designated for certain uses, it was a good time for the board to re-examine its funding priorities and practices. Going forward, all requests will fall in one of three categories - microloan consideration, grants meeting the criteria and within one of the areas of emphasis, and large brick and mortar projects that can meet and pass the environmental review process. Once the procedure manual was updated, a copy was distributed to all board members and JDA/EDC offices within the six counties represented by CONAC plus the two tribal planning offices. With the state legislature back in session, it was appropriate for CONAC’s success piece to be updated. The board gave approval and dedicated a budget for the printing of a new promotional piece.
