Dunklin County is located in the southeast part of Missouri, commonly known as the Mississippi Delta Region.  This county is county and the general area known as the Bootheel Region are considered one of the most poverty stricken areas in the state and the country.  The county is highly agricultural in its economy and devotes most its land to cotton, rice, watermelon.
