Outline of Need: The City of Prinsburg currently has a failing collection system, which is directly discharging the city's waste into a local ditch, without any treatment. MPCA has put the city on notice that they are in violation and will be assessed penalties, if a treatment system is not in operation by 2005. |
How Rural Development Helped:
The proposed project is for replacement of the existing collection system, and the construction of a constructed wetland treatment system.
The Results:
These replacements, the new construction and other improvements will help the City of Prinsburg meet MPCA environmental requirements and will help benefit community residents.

(L) Minnesota Rural Development State Director Steve Wenzel signs a $2,188,000 ceremonial check for the City of Prinsburg to be used for their new wastewater system while Mayor Harvey Van Eps and Tom Meium from Congressman Collin Peterson's office watch along with other city officials.
