Earth Day 2004: City of Gallatin, Missouri
Sewer Grant and Loan

Outline of Need:

The City of Gallatin needed improvements to its sewer system to meet the service demands resulting from an increase in population and meet environmental requirements. Gallatin is in northwest Missouri, within an hour's drive of the Kansas City airport.

How Rural Development Helped:

In Fiscal Year 2004, Rural Development provided the City of Gallatin with a $665,000 loan and $190,400 grant to support its sewer project. Rural Development has also provided assistance in previous Fiscal Years.

The Results:

There will be 100 new users served in addition to the 850 current users of the system.
