The Northeast Wis. Biogas Consortium, a group of 6 Dairy Farms managing approx. 12000 Dairy cows, came together in 2000 for the express purpose described in your mission, Expanding Rural Renewable fuel systems. NewBC has activity investigated all avenues of existing Technologies to achieve affordable DG (distributed Generation) of renewable energy produced with the biomass produced on each Dairy form, namely manure. There is a multipurpose goal in our extensive Research which emcompasses environmental concerns; reduction of green house gas immission odor control, cleanwater concerns, generation of needed renewable energy and the conversion of a costly waste into a valuable, needed resource, NEWBC has done ass the due diligence and financial calculations with both proven technologies and newer, unproven processes. The most glaring obstacle priventing further progress and success is the money. Certainly, low interest loans and loan guarentee would be a necessary part of the endeavor given the depressed state of the Dairy industry today. Given the opportunity to secure a low interest loan and or a loan guarentee, our NEWBC would be off the drawing boards and onto reality.
