From: Art Greenberg Sent: Friday, November 29, 2002 5:00 PM To: Hadjy, Pandor Subject: Rural Energy Program Mr. Hadjy: I am submitting comments on behalf of the North Olympic Peninsula Resource Conservation and Development (NOP RC&D) Council covering Jefferson and Clallam Counties in Washington State. It is the belief of the Council that since much of the forestland in the Pacific Northwest is denser and being harvested at lower rates than in the past, that the available trees and biomass would be well suited to generating electricity. Therefore, any rural renewable energy program providing federal grant funds should allow for studies to determine the feasibility of constructing and fueling wood-fired electricity plants. Thank you.
