USDA APPOINTS ANDREW M.G. LAW TO HEAD RURAL DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS IN NEW JERSEY
WASHINGTON, Feb. 8, 2002--The U.S. Department of Agriculture today appointed Andrew M. G. Law as the New Jersey State Director for USDA Rural Development.
Andrew M. G. Law from Bordentown, N.J. has worked for the USDA Rural Development, formerly the Farmers Home Administration, for the past 32 years. During that time, he administered a vast array of federal programs related to agriculture and rural development.
Law is a certified general real estate appraiser and is an associate member of the Metro New Jersey Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in horticulture from Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, Pa. He received the Purple Heart while serving in the infantry in Vietnam.
Currently Law serves on several local civic organizations, including as the Commander of American Legion Post #26, Vice Chairman of Bordentown Township Open Space Advisory Committee, and Chairman of the Bordentown Township Veterans Advisory Committee.
USDA Rural Development serves as the lead federal entity for rural development needs and administers financial and technical assistance through three agencies: Rural Housing Service, Rural Business - Cooperative Service and Rural Utilities Service.
