A $450,000 grant to establish a revolving loan fund to provide business capital to small and emerging businesses in the Empowerment Zone. Initial loan assistance is for Gas North America, Inc., which is involved in the manufacture and assembly of racing motorcycles. 35 jobs created; 14 jobs saved; 1 business assisted.
Town of West, West, Mississippi. A $85,000 grant to make street improvements to a town-owned site to allow small and emerging business adequate access for raw material and finished product transport. 36 jobs created; 1 business assisted.
Missouri - $199,400
University of Missouri Delta Center, Pemiscot County, Mo. - A $99,900 grant to renovate an existing building for use as a soil testing laboratory. The renovation will allow three area businesses to proceed with expansion plans.
Missouri Corn Growers, Cole County, Mo. - A $99,500 grant to develop an identity-preserved tracking system for corn produced in Missouri. The project is expected to create six new jobs.
Nebraska - $286,410
Ho-Chunk Community Development Corporation, Winnebago, Nebraska. A $200,000 grant to create a business development and training center in Walthill, Nebraska. 20 jobs saved, 17 businesses assisted.
City of South Sioux City, South Sioux City, Nebraska. A $86,410 grant to purchase high tech equipment for a technical speculative building in South Sioux City. 75 jobs created; 5 businesses assisted.
New Hampshire - $99,000
Women's Rural Entrepreneurial Network, Bethlehem, New Hampshire. A $99,000 grant to assist business development. 22 businesses assisted.
New Mexico - $233,550
