Middle Rio Grande (FUTURO)
On January 13, 1999, Middle Rio Grande (FUTURO) was selected as an Enterprise Community in the Round II Rural Empowerment Zone application process. This includes sites in the counties of Uvalde, Maverick and LaSalle, as well as the Cities of Big Wells, Crystal City, and Eagle Pass. As an Enterprise Community, Middle Rio Grande is entitled to initial funding of $250,000 to implement sustainable community development.
