Rural Utilities Service Programs

The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) provides funding for water and wastewater disposal systems for rural areas. Safe, dependable drinking water is a resource that many of us take for granted; however, thousands of residents in rural areas still carry water to their homes for consumption.
  • Rural Utilities Service Programs provide loans and grants to develop:
    • Water and Sewer Infrastructure
    • Solid Waste disposal and Recycling
    • Municipal Sewer Utility
    • Municipal Water Utility
    • Provide training on managing a utility
    • Provide training on technical operation of a water/sewer utility
    • Telecommunications for educational purposes
    • Telecommunications for medical services
    • Water Quality/Quantity for community has declined
