Rural Energy for America Program - Loans and Grants
This program, originally authorized in the 2002 Farm Bill
and reauthorized in 2008, is a program to help farmers,
ranchers and rural small businesses purchase renewable energy systems and make energy efficiency improvements. This is
done by offering a grant not to exceed 25% of the total cost of the project and a guarantee of a commercial loan not
to exceed 50% of the total cost of the project.

NOTICE: The Utah State Rural Energy for America Program [REAP] Grant and/or
Guaranteed Loan Application Deadline is 06/14/10 or until all Utah State Allocated funds are utilized, but not later than 06/30/10. Projects not selected for Utah
Allocation funding will compete for national funding.
- The 2010 NOFA was published on 04/26/10.
- Rural Energy for America Program [REAP] Grant &/or Guaranteed Loan Applications must be received in the Utah State Office by 4:30 PM local time on 06/30/10.
- Utah's REAP Application deadline is 06/14/10 or until all of the state funds have been utilized, but not later than 06/30/10.
- Utah's Allocation for the 25% REAP Grant fund is $318,670, which would fund total eligible projects costs of $1,274,680.
- Utah's Allocation for the 50% REAP Guaranteed Loan Fund is $1,325,000; [1% Guaranteed Loan Fee with a .25% Annual Renewal Fee.]
- Once state funds have been fully utilized, we can request national funds beginning 05/14/10.
