SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING

DIRECT LOAN PROGRAM

 

Rural Development makes loans to low and very-low income households to purchase an existing dwelling, purchase a site and construct a dwelling, or purchase a newly constructed dwelling located in rural areas of Vermont and New Hampshire.  Loans can also be made for home repairs.

 

Mortgage Payments are based on the household’s adjusted income.

This program works on the basis of adjusted income. We suggest you contact a Housing Specialist if your income is close to these limits, or if you have a family size in excess of eight persons.

 

If you income exceeds these limits, you might still qualify for a USDA Rural Development’s Guaranteed Rural Housing Loan. Click here for more information about the Housing Guaranteed Loan Program.

Ineligible Areas for Single Family Housing Programs:

The following areas are ineligible for the Rural Housing Programs due to population density:

Concord, Derry, Dover, Hudson, Keene, Nashua, Londonderry, Manchester, Merrimack, Portsmouth, Rochester, Salem, parts of Goffstown and Hooksett.
