| The Washington State Office of the USDA Rural Development has developed this
Natural Resources Management Guide (NRMG) for Washington. The Guide has
been prepared to assist applicants, engineers, environmental consultants, and
USDA Rural Development staff in preparation of the required National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
documentation for Rural Development funded projects within the State of Washington.
USDA Rural Development assistance is provided through three separate Agencies within USDA, Rural
Business Service (RBS), Rural Housing Service (RHS), and Rural Utility Service (RUS).
Currently the NEPA requirements can vary between each of these Agencies.
Projects receiving assistance from RBS and RHS will comply with FmHA Instruction
1940-G, Environmental Program, and project receiving assistance from RUS
will comply with Staff Instruction 1794-1, Administrative Policies and
Procedures for Water and Waste Loans and Grants. |
