On Friday, June 7, 2002, Wisconsin State Director Frank Frassetto celebrated with members of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians on the opening of the newly constructed Lac du Flambeau Planning and Information Center. The new 4,752 sq ft facility will house a host of community services, including the tribal planning and development department, a job readiness and retention center, the University of Wisconsin - Extension office, the Chamber of Commerce, a resource mapping service, the tourism information service, and a branch bank office. This project was funded through the United States Department of Agriculture - Rural Development's Rural Business Enterprise Grant program and Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant program.
